Anthurium papillilaminum × magnificum is a horticultural hybrid uniting two species prized for different but complementary leaf qualities. The papillilaminum parent — itself a rare Panamanian species with elongated, subtly textured leaves and distinctive papillate surface — lends an elegance and refinement of form, while magnificum contributes impressive breadth, substance, and the bold presence for which it is celebrated. The result is a compact, self-heading plant with a short basal crown producing dark, velvety, cordate and substantial leaves with pale to olive-toned venation and a moderate open sinus. Sturdy petioles support blades that combine the elongated elegance of papillilaminum's outline with the broad, impressive leaf mass of magnificum. A hybrid that rewards patient, attentive cultivation with increasingly impressive foliage at maturity.
