BVEP — short for Black Veined Evil's Pride — is a dark hybrid Anthurium selection with a gothic, blackish-green velvet leaf surface highlighted by bright white primary and secondary veins in sharp, deliberate contrast. The near-black ground and stark white veining is what earns it the dramatic name, and it's a look that's become popular among collectors chasing the darkest possible velvet-leaf forms. As with many trade-named selections of this type, precise parentage isn't consistently documented, so it's best treated as a named cultivar selection rather than a formally recorded cross.
