Anthurium besseae
Besseae Anthurium

Morphology
About
Anthurium besseae is a compact epiphytic Anthurium described by Croat, native to the cloud-influenced humid forests of Bolivia at montane elevations. It grows on trees in high-humidity environments, producing a dense crown of velvety, dark green leaves with contrasting pale venation and a distinctively narrow to moderate sinus. Short petioles keep the plant tightly formed, and it rarely exceeds a manageable size — making it ideal for cabinet and terrarium cultivation. Known from only limited localities in Bolivia, it remains one of the more challenging velvet anthuriums to source legitimately, and it commands serious attention among dedicated collectors.

Market Analysis & Price Guide
Historical auction metrics and live online retailer listings updated weekly.
How prices are calculated: The AA Price uses verified eBay UK completed auction data — we take the trimmed mean (removing the top and bottom 20% of prices) to produce a fair-value guide that excludes outlier sales. When recent auction data is unavailable, the AA Price falls back to the current UK retail average from tracked stockists. Retail prices are scraped from active UK plant shop listings and reflect what you would pay buying directly from a retailer today. All prices are in GBP and updated automatically.
